Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and document nursing actions in the patient record.
- Collaborate with the oncology care team; participate in patient and family education; ensure safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Support transitions of care between shifts and care teams; contribute to a safe, efficient unit workflow.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards, while maintaining composure in a high-acuity environment.
Requirements
- Active California RN license or eligibility for California licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; flexible to a 3x12 schedule.
- Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment; ability to adapt to a new care setting and team.
- Oncology or acute care experience preferred; strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated clinical judgment and the ability to supervise and coordinate care across disciplines.
