Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking and professional judgment.
- Collect relevant data, analyze assessment findings to determine diagnoses and care needs.
- Develop and implement care plans, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe environment.
- Monitor progress toward outcomes; adjust plans as needed; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide education to patients, families, and team members; delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of the healthcare team.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy
- CPR certification or BLS as applicable per policy
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certification (required)
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification (required)
- Minimum two years of recent RN experience in the field; acute care facility experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- Experience with EPIC and Cerner electronic medical record systems required or strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a labor and delivery setting and adapt to a fast-paced environment
