Travel Surgical Technologist (CST) – Surgical Tech specialty in Rochester, NY. Start date: 06/22/2026. Duration: Weeks. Shift: 4x10 Days. Weekly pay: $1,564–$1,657 per week. Responsibilities
- Scrub, pass instruments, gown and glove, and maintain sterile technique during surgeries across multiple service lines, including general, laparoscopic, bariatric, vascular, robotic/MIS, orthopedic, neurosurgery, ENT, urology, gynecology, and thoracic cases.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, instrument counts, and turnover while supporting the sterile field and surgical team.
- Collaborate with surgeons, circulators, and nurses to ensure adherence to aseptic technique and universal protocol; maintain instrument inventories and case readiness.
- Document procedures and supplies in the charting system (EPIC) and support accurate perioperative documentation.
- Float to assigned units as needed within the department; maintain a 1:1 patient ratio when applicable and respond to call duties.
- Participate in pre-start onboarding and complete required modules; comply with department policies and safety standards.

Requirements
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA; CST required unless previously employed as a surgical technologist in NY prior to 2015
- Licensure: New York license required in hand to submit
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of surgical technology experience; 3+ years preferred; prior charge experience required
- Travel experience: Required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Charting: EPIC experience required (hard requirement)
- Paced experience: 1:1 patient ratios; trauma Level II experience preferred
- On-site requirements: Call required; shift includes 11a–1p weekly flexibility; candidates will float
- Distance eligibility: Must reside >50 miles from the assignment location; candidates within 75 miles are not eligible
- Pre-start onboarding: Modules may be billable up to 5 hours; total onboarding time may approach ~10 hours
- Vaccine: COVID-19 vaccine not required
- RTO: No more than 10 days of requested time off
- Return-staff policy: 1 year
