Responsibilities
- Provide prescribed respiratory therapies and assessments for assigned patients, including ventilator management and airway therapies.
- Administer medications and adjunct treatments (e.g., aerosolized meds, chest physiotherapy) per orders; monitor patient response and adjust therapy accordingly.
- Perform bedside evaluations, monitor equipment, and assist with arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation as directed.
- Document care, outcomes, and any adverse events; communicate changes with the multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists to implement treatment plans; uphold infection control, safety, and quality standards.
- Participate in rounds and contribute to care planning, patient and family education, and ongoing safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Active Georgia Registered Respiratory Therapist (GA RRT) license
- NBRC-RRT certification
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in respiratory care within the specialty
- Ability to work the stated schedule (12-hour nights; every other weekend; major and minor holidays as required)
- Two professional references available upon request
