Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients and postpartum mothers, including newborn care for mother-infant dyads
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications as prescribed, and perform routine nursing assessments
- Collaborate with the obstetric team and support the couplet care model during postpartum care
- Assist with labor and delivery procedures within scope of practice, and support pain management and safety measures
- Document care in the electronic medical record, ensure infection control practices, and respond to clinical changes or emergencies
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- L&D nursing experience or current practice in labor and delivery; postpartum experience within scope is beneficial
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Ability to work a 3x12-hour night shift (19:00–07:30) and rotate through postpartum/postpartum couplet care
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced obstetric setting
