Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an individual patient or assigned group of patients in the ER, adhering to the nursing process and established standards.
- Collect pertinent health data, analyze assessment findings, determine diagnoses, and develop and implement care plans.
- Monitor patients, respond to changes in condition, administer medications and treatments, and escalate care as needed.
- Collaborate with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care; participate in discharge planning for continuity of care.
- Supervise and direct the activities of nursing staff at various levels, delegating tasks appropriately and coordinating with other disciplines.
- Document care and outcomes, provide patient education, and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an approved vendor per facility policy required.
- Advanced certifications: ACLS and PALS (AHA-ARC) required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent ER/acute care nursing experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Additional: Current EPIC electronic health record experience required; ability to work the night shift; ability to work in a high-acuity emergency department setting.
