Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a PCU/telemetry setting, monitoring vitals, rhythms, and clinical status
- Interpret telemetry, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond with appropriate interventions; participate in rapid response or code events as needed
- Administer medications and IV therapies, manage blood products per protocol, and handle non-titrating vasoactive infusions per unit guidelines
- Support patients across the post-operative spectrum, including post-PCI and post-open-heart surgery care; participate in stroke center activities as indicated
- Perform or assist with emergent procedures such as cardioversion and central line placement as part of the care team; utilize specialized equipment (e.g., BIPAP/CPAP, IPPB, HHF)
- Collaborate with IV teams, PT, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Transportation, and Unit Secretary; document care in Epic
- Maintain patient safety and comfort with appropriate infection control, charting, and routine duties; uphold unit standards for dysrhythmia management and cardiac/vasoactive drips (no titration)
Requirements
- Active RN license in Idaho or a compact state; must be in hand at time of submittal
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience; telemetry/stepdown and post-operative care experience preferred
- Onboarding and orientation: core items/labs completed within 48 hours of contract signing; 24 hours of orientation; RN orientation typically 4–6 hours onsite, Allied 2–3 hours; pre-approved time off allowed for 2 shifts
- Unit/position fit: Ability to work in a 24-bed PCU/telemetry unit; typical staffing ratios 1:3 or 1:4; block schedule with nights; weekend coverage required (6 weekends per contract)
- Other: State or compact licensure in good standing; ability to float per unit need if applicable
