Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the emergency department according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Collect relevant health data, analyze assessments, determine diagnoses and care issues, and develop a plan with prescribed interventions.
- Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to promote safety and healing.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at multiple levels; delegate tasks appropriately and coordinate duties of the healthcare team.
- Provide patient and family education, participate in discharge planning, and ensure continuity of care across transitions.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and uphold policies to support a safe, efficient ED environment.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in California (state of practice).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; CPR acceptable per policy as specified.
- At least two years of recent ER or acute care nursing experience.
- EPIC EMR experience required.
- BSN preferred; bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced emergency department and collaborate effectively with the ED team.
