Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize deviations, and respond using critical thinking and independent judgment.
- Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions, ensuring accurate documentation and safe administration.
- Collaborate with physicians, care teams, and ancillary staff to ensure safe labor and delivery and seamless patient flow.
- Provide postpartum and newborn care as appropriate, including patient education and discharge planning.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license to practice
- Experience in labor and delivery settings preferred
- Ability to work nights on 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week) in a hospital environment
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment and credentialing process
