Registered Nurse – PCU (step-down) travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. The assignment starts on 09/14/2026 and runs for 13 weeks in a hospital setting. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver direct nursing care to patients in the step-down unit, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of care needs
- Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and respond to life-threatening emergencies
- Administer medications per physician orders and monitor for effectiveness and adverse effects
- Implement and update patient-care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel (e.g., CNAs) within scope of practice
- Document nursing care accurately and maintain patient safety and quality outcomes
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- 1+ year of RN experience in PCU/step-down or a closely related critical care setting preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and to function effectively in a high-acuity step-down environment
- Eligible for travel assignment and credentialing requirements
