Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for telemetry patients, including continuous rhythm analysis and rapid response to critical events
- Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms; manage patients with cardiac conditions and post-procedural care
- Administer and titrate cardiac medications and IV drips (including common agents used for telemetry/acute care, with unit-specific protocols)
- Prepare, assist with, and monitor post-procedure care; manage TR Band use and post-procedural assessments
- Document assessments, plans of care, interventions, and patient responses in the EPIC EMR; coordinate with the care team for timely communication and discharge planning
- Float to other acute care units as needed per unit policy; prioritize patient safety and infection control, provide patient and family education
Requirements
- Kansas RN license in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry experience
- Experience with cardiac drips (e.g., Heparin, Lasix, Cardizem) and initiation processes (e.g., Tikosyn/Sotalol); familiarity with TR Band management
- Ability to work in a Telemetry/acute care environment and float to related units as needed
- Credentialing requirements: CBC, DS, and related labs must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Orientation and onboarding coordinated across multiple sessions, including Epic EMR training
