Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient nursing care and triage in a hospital setting
- Deliver patient education via phone and in person as needed (glucose meters, injection/medication instructions)
- Coordinate prior authorizations, refills, and lab orders; document actions in the electronic health record
- Document nursing assessments and interventions in the EMR (EPIC) and maintain accurate patient records
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated patient care
- Adhere to HIPAA, safety, and clinical practice standards throughout all interactions
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (state not specified in notes)
- BSN degree REQUIRED
- 18 months of RN experience REQUIRED
- EPIC EMR experience REQUIRED
- Ability to work 40 hours per week in an outpatient hospital setting
- Strong communication and patient education skills
