Responsibilities
- Deliver occupational therapy evaluation, treatment planning, and interventions for a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses in an acute inpatient setting
- Manage care for diverse patient populations, including ICU, stroke/neurological, orthopedics, and general debility
- Document patient progress and plans in the Cerner electronic charting system; ensure timely and accurate record keeping
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to implement and adjust the plan of care and assist with discharge planning and caregiver education
- Perform patient and family education on functional goals, safety, and activities of daily living; support on mobility and device use as appropriate
- Maintain compliance with facility policies and AHA BLS guidelines; participate in holiday and weekend coverage as required
Requirements
- Active Georgia licensed Occupational Therapist and NBCOT Certification
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the specialty
- Experience charting in Cerner and ability to navigate acute care workflows
- Ability to work in an acute inpatient setting; availability to cover weekends and major/minor holidays as required by schedule
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
