- Unit and collaboration: interdisciplinary support from IV teams, Respiratory, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary
- Onboarding: core items/labs completed within 48 hours of contract signing; onsite orientation with Allied modules (2–3 hours)
Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of MR imaging studies (neuro, body, cardiac, MRA/MRV, MRCP, musculoskeletal, breast, pediatric outpatient/acute) with attention to protocol and image quality
- Prepare patients, position for optimal study quality, select coils, and adjust sequences as needed; monitor patient comfort and safety
- Screen for contraindications, assess safety in the MRI environment, and manage emergency patient situations per protocol
- Administer contrast when indicated and ensure safe patient handling and line access; manage IV starts per scope
- Ensure accurate documentation in the charting system (Epic), verify orders, label images properly, and facilitate timely image transfer
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Radiology, Interpretation Services, IV teams, Respiratory, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transportation) to support patient care and workflow
- Maintain equipment safety checks and participate in routine QC; adhere to MRI safety practices and isolation precautions when required
- Maintain professional conduct and patient-centered communication; participate in on-call coverage as scheduled
Requirements
- Active NJ state license or compact radiology licensure in hand at submittal
- ARRT (MR) certification
- ARMRIT certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year MRI experience
- Proficiency with Siemens MRI systems
- Ability to perform peripheral IV starts and manage adult patient populations; comfortable in a fast-paced, cross-functional unit
- Non-local candidates only; 50-mile radius rule applies (no local candidates)
- Onboarding requirements: complete core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing; onsite orientation modules (Allied) estimated 2–3 hours
