Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for cath lab patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor patient status during procedures, support hemodynamic surveillance, and administer medications as appropriate for interventional care.
- Prepare, position, and assist with interventional procedures; maintain sterile technique and consistent infection control practices.
- Document patient assessments, procedures, and outcomes; communicate clearly with the procedural team including physicians and technologists.
- Supervise and direct activities of various nursing staff levels as assigned; coordinate care with other disciplines to optimize patient safety and outcomes.
- Apply clinical judgment and critical thinking to priorities, anticipate potential complications, and initiate escalation when needed.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Oregon or ability to obtain licensure by endorsement.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required by some settings.
- Cath lab, interventional cardiology, or perioperative nursing experience preferred; inpatient acute care experience considered.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Availability to work 4x10-hour shifts and participate in a 13-week travel assignment; willing to relocate to the assignment location for the duration of the contract.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
