Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, coordinated nursing care in the ER according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Collect and analyze patient data, identify diagnoses and care issues, and develop a plan of care with measurable outcomes.
- Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe and healing environment; reassess and adjust as needed.
- Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and manage acute care and crisis situations in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and other providers; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegate tasks appropriately, supervise assigned staff, and engage in patient education and learning opportunities.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California) or as required by the state of assignment.
- CPR/BLS certification from an approved vendor; Basic Life Support required.
- ACLS and PALS certifications (AHA-ACLS/ARC-ALS and AHA-PALS/ARC-PALS) required.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: At least two years of recent ER/acute care experience preferred.
- EMR: Must have EPIC experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ER setting and on a travel assignment as specified.
