Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing – LTC, oversee the operation of multiple nursing units and provide clinical supervision to staff on assigned shifts.
- Ensure quality resident care through teaching, supervision, and ongoing evaluation of nursing staff.
- Communicate identified or potential unit issues to the Director of Nursing or Nurse Manager and collaborate to implement solutions.
- Exercise sound administrative judgment in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator during off-shift periods or weekends, within the defined scope of responsibility.
- Collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services, and residents and families to maintain professional, courteous care delivery.
- Demonstrate leadership, composure under pressure, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic long-term care environment. Maintain familiarity with NYSDOH requirements.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Certification: BLS (American Heart Association or RQI system) required during orientation.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in long-term care, with supervisor or clinical lead experience over multiple units (charge-only roles are not accepted).
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Additional: CPI certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff, manage in stressful situations, and maintain professional communication; familiarity with NYSDOH requirements; ability to work effectively in a long-term care setting and supervise nursing units.
