Responsibilities
- Administers ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians.
- Verifies treatment parameters, patient identification, and treatment site before delivering therapy.
- Observes appropriate radiation safety protocols and dose verification per department standards.
- Documents treatment delivery, patient response, and any deviations in the electronic medical record.
- Communicates changes, concerns, or patient status updates to the Radiation Oncology team.
- Maintains equipment readiness, basic QA tasks, and supplies management as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work a travel assignment and adapt to varied clinical settings.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in treatment delivery and documentation.
- Effective communication with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and patients.
- Comfort working in a day-shift, fast-paced clinical environment.
- Adherence to patient privacy guidelines (HIPAA) and radiation safety principles.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to fulfill the duties of a radiation therapy role during the assignment.
