Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures in a Level 1 trauma environment, adhering to ARRT CT standards and radiation safety practices.
- Operate GE CT scanners, including both older platform units and Revolution platform scanners, ensuring diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
- Verify patient identity, obtain orders, position patients, and prepare equipment for CT exams; follow infection control and radiation safety protocols.
- Collaborate with radiologists, radiology technicians, and nursing staff to ensure timely, accurate imaging and proper labeling of images in the EMR.
- Document procedures in the EPIC system, manage workflow, and communicate results according to departmental policies.
- Maintain equipment quality and assist with basic image optimization, protocol selection, and adherence to trauma and critical-care imaging guidelines.
Requirements
- ARRT CT certification is required.
- Experience operating GE CT scanners, including both older platforms and Revolution platform.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma imaging environment (stroke and burn care settings).
- Education commonly required for Radiologic Technologists (accredited Radiologic Technology program completion) to support CT imaging competencies.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and comply with state licensure or credentialing requirements as applicable.
