Speech Language Pathologist in Acute Care for a 13-week travel assignment in a skilled nursing setting located in Waterville, Maine. Start date 07/27/2026 with a weekly pay range of $2,327 to $2,453 and guaranteed 35 hours per week. Shift is 5x8 days, 08:00–16:30. This on-site role focuses on evaluating and treating communication and swallowing disorders and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations for patients in acute care settings, addressing communication, cognition, voice, and swallowing.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; set goals, track progress, and document notes accurately.
- Perform bedside swallow evaluations; coordinate with the nutrition team and medical staff; refer for instrumental studies as indicated.
- Provide therapy across appropriate modalities; adjust treatment frequency and intensity; participate in discharge planning and goal setting.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapy, physical therapy, dietitians, social work, and case management to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about communication strategies, dysphagia management, and post-acute care plans; document patient education in records.
Requirements
- Active state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in Maine
- 1+ year of clinical experience in acute care or skilled nursing settings preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- BLS certification preferred or readily obtainable
