Travel Registered Nurse NICU Job
Registered Nurse - NICUTravel assignment based in San Luis Obispo, California. This 8-week, nights position supports a Short Term Acute Care Hospital with a Level III NICU. Start date is 08/17/2026. Earn between $2,074 and $2,193 per week with guaranteed 48 hours per week. Shift is night rotation, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). The RN will provide specialized neonatal care, coordinate with the care team, and support families in a high-acuity NICU setting.

Responsibilities
- Provide planning, coordination, and direct nursing care for NICU patients on night shifts.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, manage indwelling lines, catheters, and drains.
- Monitor neonates for physiological changes, document progress, and communicate findings to the interdisciplinary team.
- Support neonates requiring mechanical ventilation and ventilatory support devices (e.g., nasal CPAP, oxygen delivery, suctioning) and manage airway equipment as indicated.
- Respond to neonatal emergencies, participate in resuscitation activities when needed, and assist with deliveries for neonatal resuscitation purposes.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel, with cross-training and float coverage to the pediatric unit as required; provide family education and psychosocial support.
Requirements
- Licenses and education: Current RN license in California; Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: At least two years NICU experience required; neonatal transport experience preferred; prior delivery attendance for neonatal resuscitation preferred
- Certifications: Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Special qualifications: RNC or CCRN certification preferred; Epic EMR experience required
- Additional: Ability to work in a NICU setting, including night shifts; knowledge of medications, IV therapy, and critical care equipment
