Responsibilities
- Provide and manage respiratory care for adult and neonatal patients, including invasive and noninvasive ventilation, airway management, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, and oxygen therapy per physician orders.
- Monitor patient status, interpret ABGs and ventilator parameters, adjust settings as prescribed, and document findings accurately in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapy colleagues; participate in daily rounds and care planning to optimize patient outcomes.
- Support NICU and delivery-area care, including assisting with NICU respiratory care needs, setting up BCPAP, and providing neonatal respiratory support as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Respond to changes in patient condition, assist with emergent events per protocol, and ensure patient safety, isolation procedures, and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain required certifications (NRP, ACLS, BLS, PALS) and participate in ongoing training and competency checks; ensure proper equipment cleaning and infection control practices.
Requirements
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience required; NICU exposure in delivery settings preferred.
- At least 2 years of critical care experience, including involvement with deliveries and neonatal respiratory support.
- Certifications required: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Ability to manage ventilator and noninvasive support, including setting up and monitoring BCPAP as prescribed.
- Availability for day shifts (0630–1900), 3x12s, with rotating weekends; able to work in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Eligible to work in the United States and perform duties in a hospital setting (no remote work).
