Travel Registered Nurse ICU Job
Registered Nurse – ICU (ICU), Rochester, New York. Travel - temporary assignment starting 08/17/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,070 to $2,210 per week. Shift: 12-hour rotating days/evenings/nights with weekends and holidays on-call. Work setting: hospital environment. The role supports Level II nursing care under the direction of the Nurse Manager and may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as a Level II RN in a high-acuity neuro/stepdown unit with telemetry capabilities
- Assume expanded responsibilities as needed, including charge nurse, preceptor, and committee participation
- Perform frequent neuro assessments (Q1 checks) and manage neuro-specific devices and procedures as described, such as EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, arterial lines, and related therapies
- Monitor and administer medications and drips (e.g., 3% NS, cardene drips) and coordinate with neurosurgery for interventions such as aneurysm clipping/coiling or DBS considerations
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, documentation, and care planning per established guidelines; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families
- Manage telemetry patients with attention to stroke, neurosurgical, and postoperative needs; respond to rapid changes in condition and participate in on-call or after-hours coverage as required
Requirements
- NY RN license (active) required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Telemetry experience required
- Stepdown/PCU experience required
- Minimum of two (2) years RN experience
- High-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
- ACLS preferred; NIHSS preferred
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and callbacks
