Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for high-acuity surgical trauma patients on a medical-surgical floor, including post-operative and trauma care
- Monitor vital signs, assess clinical status, administer medications per policy, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with ED during handoffs and with the admitting unit to ensure seamless transition of care; participate in nurse handoffs with ED and admitting units
- Maintain accurate EPIC documentation; coordinate with phlebotomy services and the night unit secretary to support patient flow
- Manage a patient load around 5:1, implement care plans, wound care, bleeding precautions, and postoperative monitoring as applicable
- Demonstrate BLS certification at minimum; ACLS certification preferred; comply with unit protocols and safety standards

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license (state-specific) and eligibility to practice in the applicable jurisdiction
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in medical-surgical or trauma/high-acuity settings (experience on a surgical trauma floor preferred)
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (2x3 schedule) and participate in a high-acuity environment
- No time-off requests (RTO) permitted during the assignment
- Able to work on a high-acuity surgical trauma floor with a 5:1 patient ratio
