Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments and physician orders.
- Provide direct therapy services targeting communication skills, cognitive-linguistic functioning, and safe swallowing.
- Perform and interpret swallow assessments (clinical and/or instrumental as appropriate) and make diet modification recommendations.
- Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with state, federal, and facility guidelines; educate residents, families, and staff on therapy plans and safe swallowing techniques.
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings, monitor resident progress, and adjust treatment plans to support functional outcomes. Supervise CFYs and/or SLPAs in accordance with state and ASHA guidelines when applicable.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, or CFY status with supervision.
- Prior experience in a SNF or geriatric setting preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing facility environment; strong documentation and communication skills; ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
