Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation)
- Collect and analyze relevant data to identify health issues and develop a care plan; implement prescribed interventions and monitor patient responses
- Administer medications, monitor for adverse effects, and ensure patient safety and comfort; utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, coordinate care across disciplines, and participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients and families, provide learning opportunities for teammates, and document care and progress in the EMR
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels; maintain a safe environment and adherence to policy and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California)
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS required; PALS required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy
- Education: BSN preferred; other RN qualifications considered with experience
- Experience: At least two years of recent acute care nursing experience
- Additional: Epic EMR experience required
- Specialty/dacility requirements: Med Surg in a hospital setting; ability to work night shifts with weekend rotation; 36 hours per week; travel - temporary assignment
