Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality triage, assessment, and ongoing monitoring for ED patients, prioritizing rapidly changing conditions.
- Initiate IV access, administer medications, perform basic procedures, and support trauma and acute care interventions per protocol.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff; assist with diagnostic testing, EKGs, wound care, and charting in real time.
- Document all patient care clearly and accurately in the electronic medical record; communicate discharge instructions and care plans to patients and families.
- Ensure patient safety and infection control standards; participate in code and trauma activations as needed.
Requirements
- Four years of well-rounded adult and pediatric ER nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC and ENPC preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Willingness to work night shift and 12-hour shifts in a hospital emergency department setting
