Travel Registered Nurse First Assist Job
Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) traveling assignment in a short-term acute care hospital in Lodi, CA. Start date: 08/24/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,546–$2,807 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 5x8 days. This position involves perioperative patient care and direct first-assist duties in the operating room.

Responsibilities
- Perform circulating and scrubbing duties in the operating room, including instrument and sponge counts per policy.
- Verbally confirm the surgical site/side before induction of anesthesia.
- Assist with tissue handling, dissection, and coordinated vascular control (clamps, coagulation, ligation) in collaboration with the surgeon.
- Suturing of muscle, fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin in collaboration with the surgeon; place drains as indicated.
- Assist with cannulation/decannulation procedures when indicated; participate in transferring the patient as needed to postoperative areas.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) — Required
- Education: Completion of an RNFA program meeting AORN standards — Required
- Certification: CNOR certification — Required
- Certification: CPR/BLS from an approved vendor — Required
- Certification: PALS certification — Required
- Certification: CRNFA certification — Preferred
- Experience: 1–2 years of RNFA/CNOR experience as Required for after-hours coverage; 2 years' perioperative nursing experience preferred
- Additional: 1–2 years RNFA/CNOR experience required for after-hours coverage; ability to work in a perioperative setting with call responsibilities
