Travel Registered Nurse Observation Unit Job
Registered Nurse – Observation Unit in Rochester, NY. Travel assignment starts 07/06/2026 for 13 weeks with 12-hour shifts (days, evenings, nights) on a rotating schedule. Weekly pay ranges from $2,088 to $2,151. There are no guaranteed hours. The Observation unit provides care for adult patients requiring additional observation to determine if admission is needed or if they can be treated and discharged safely. The unit handles a high patient turnover and operates with 24/7 provider coverage.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adults in the observation unit, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation
- Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient status; administer medications and therapies per orders
- Collaborate with on-site and 24/7 provider teams to determine admission versus discharge decisions and coordinate care transitions
- Conduct patient and family education, discharge planning, and safety measures; maintain accurate records in the medical chart
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- Minimum two years of Med/Surg experience
- Telemetry experience or competency
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS is preferred
