Responsibilities
- Administer medications and therapies to pediatric patients, including age-appropriate dosing and monitoring for adverse reactions; document responses in the medical record.
- Provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative nursing care, including vital signs, monitoring, and management of pain, sedation, and recovery milestones.
- Collaborate with surgical team, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to ensure patient safety, proper the intraoperative flow, and adherence to sterile techniques and standards of care.
- Assess patient status continuously, recognize changes in condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and escalate per policy and physician orders.
- Educate patients and families about perioperative care, discharge instructions, and post‑procedure expectations; complete accurate documentation to support continuity of care.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license (any state) to practice in the United States
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association
- Complete Pediatric Trauma Care After Resuscitation (P-CAR) within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completion within 6 months of hire
- Experience in pediatric acute care nursing; ability to work effectively in a surgical center setting while supporting pediatric patients and families
