Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse - ER in Templeton, CA, starting 04/27/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct ED nursing care from triage through disposition, including rapid assessment, airway management, IV access, medication administration, and basic/complex wound care.
- Monitor and interpret patient status, implement interventions per physician orders, manage equipment and lines, and provide timely documentation in the Cerner EMR.
- Assess neurological status for eligible stroke patients (NIHSS) and activate stroke protocols as indicated; support ACLS/PALS-guided resuscitation when needed.
- Support patient flow, coordinate with physicians, techs, case management, and ancillary staff; assist with procedures and prepare patients for imaging, admissions, transfers, or discharges.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up plans; ensure safe transitions of care and accurate handoffs at shift change.
Requirements
- Current California RN license in good standing; graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA/ARC accepted)
- Neurological certification: NIHSS required
- Experience: minimum 3 years of ED/ER RN experience with work in the submitted unit specialty within the last 3 months; one year of recent acute care RN experience also required
- EMR: Cerner experience
- Availability for 1900–0730 night shifts; able to commit to a 36-hour weekly schedule
- Eligible to practice in the stated location and able to meet travel requirements for a 13-week assignment
