Respiratory Therapist (RT) travel assignment in Norfolk, VA. Specialty: Respiratory Therapist. Start date: 04/20/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,609–$1,710 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide skilled respiratory care to residents per physician orders, including oxygen therapy, inhaled medications, and airway clearance techniques
- Monitor respiratory status, document vitals and therapy response, and adjust therapy as directed
- Manage and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including oxygen delivery systems and ventilator support as assigned
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to develop and implement care plans; communicate changes in patient status promptly
- Document care and treatments in the electronic medical record; ensure adherence to infection control and facility policies
- Respond to respiratory distress or emergencies with appropriate assessment and interventions
Requirements
- Ability to work the listed schedule, including 12-hour night shifts and Sunday coverage
- Current Respiratory Therapist credential/licensure or eligibility to practice in Virginia (state requirements applicable)
- Demonstrated competence in basic and advanced respiratory therapies; experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment
- Willingness to travel to the assignment location and complete the 13-week contract as scheduled
