Responsibilities
- Perform pediatric echocardiography examinations, including transthoracic assessments, following pediatric cardiology protocols
- Apply fetal echocardiography when indicated and appropriate; ensure high-quality images and accurate measurements
- Scan independently in NICU, PICU, and general pediatric patient populations; adapt protocols for complex congenital heart disease and postoperative patients
- Document findings and preliminary interpretations in the EPIC electronic medical record; communicate results to the pediatric cardiology team
- Collaborate with families and care teams to support family-centered care; maintain patient safety and privacy standards
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, ensure infection control, and adhere to safety guidelines for pediatric imaging and critical care environments
- Maintain current credentialing and fulfill ongoing certification requirements as specified
Requirements
- ARDMS or CCI credential in pediatric echocardiography (RDCS-PE or RCS-PE) required
- AHA BLS certification and EKG recognition required
- Minimum of 3 years of independent pediatric echocardiography experience
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years is required
- Fetal echocardiography experience preferred
- Ability to work autonomously in NICU/PICU and other pediatric settings
- On-call weekend coverage required; reliable transportation to respond to calls and arrive promptly at the site
