Travel Respiratory Therapist Job
Respiratory Therapist position in Norfolk, Virginia. This travel, temporary assignment begins 05/04/2026 for a 13-week contract, with a weekly pay range of $1,592 to $1,659 and guaranteed 35 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Deliver prescribed respiratory therapy, including evaluation, treatment, and monitoring of residents per physician orders.
- Administer oxygen therapy, inhalation therapies, bronchodilators, nebulized treatments, and airway clearance techniques; monitor patient response and safety.
- Manage respiratory equipment, troubleshoot alarms, perform routine cleaning and infection control, and ensure proper operation of devices.
- Conduct patient assessments, document status changes, and communicate findings to the interdisciplinary team; participate in care-plan discussions and shift handoffs.
- Educate residents and families on therapy plans, device use, and safety considerations; promote adherence and proper use of equipment.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia or eligibility to practice per state requirements.
- Ability to work night shift (7:00 pm–7:00 am) with every-other-weekend rotations.
- Willingness to commit to a 13-week travel assignment.
- Prior respiratory care experience; experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
