Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult and pediatric patients within the observation unit, including routine assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications and treatments per orders; observe for adverse effects and document responses
- Document all clinical data accurately in the electronic health record; communicate changes to the care team promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and ancillary staff to support patient flow and care coordination
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education to promote safe transitions
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance; participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives
Requirements
- Active Georgia Registered Nurse license or eligibility for licensure
- 4 years of well-rounded adult and pediatric clinical experience
- BLS and ACLS required; TNCC/ENPC preferred
- Ability to work a night shift and complete orientation at the assignment location
- Credentialing in process allowed; ability to meet credentialing requirements
- Experience in hospital observation/acute care settings is preferred
