Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) in Bakersfield, California. Start date: 05/18/2026. This is a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital setting. Weekly pay range: $2,414-$2,623 per week. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients and assigned groups according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; monitor patient status and update care plans as needed.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels; delegate tasks and ensure safe, efficient workflow.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., physicians, anesthesia, neonatology, lactation consultants, social work) to support optimal outcomes for mother and newborn.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in routine and urgent situations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, uphold safety and quality standards, and comply with policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Ability to work nights (3x12s) in a hospital setting.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills; capable of independent decision-making.
- Experience supervising and coordinating care across nursing staff of multiple levels.
- Experience or demonstrated competency in labor and delivery nursing; teamwork with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to support patient-centered care.
