Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity using dual identifiers and review physician orders before starting x-ray procedures.
- Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients’ bones, tissues, and organs per written orders.
- Explain x-ray procedures to patients, answer questions, and assist with positioning; move patients as needed.
- Operate radiologic equipment safely and properly, applying dose-reduction practices to minimize patient exposure.
- Maintain accurate patient records, verify exam details in the electronic system, and ensure images are correctly sent to the PACS.
Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
- NYS license (or eligible to obtain prior to starting).
- Minimum 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience; Level 1 trauma center experience.
- Recent OR experience with C-arm/O-arm capability (within the last 8 months).
- Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods; BLS certification required.
- Must be able to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts.
