Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) in Utica, New York. Start date: 07/06/2026. Assignment length: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,152–$2,240 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 2x3 Nights. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a mixed Med Surg/Oncology/Hematology/Nephrology/Endocrine/GI/Dermatology/General Medicine units for adults 18+, including assessments, planning, and implementation of nursing care.
- Administer medications and IV therapies, manage monitoring equipment (including IV pumps), and respond to changes in patient condition; document care in the EMR (EPIC).
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, participate in rounds, coordinate discharge planning, and educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, and self-care.
- Perform unit duties such as procedures (e.g., NG tubes), manage specialty beds, and assist with care of patients with CA diagnoses, diabetes, ESRD, GI concerns, Dermatology needs, or related conditions.
- Maintain strict infection control, patient safety, and comfort measures; adhere to chemo certification when applicable and follow facility protocols for chemotherapy administration and handling.
- Float to assigned units as needed; maintain flexibility in scheduling and unit coverage.
Requirements
- Licenses: Active New York RN license with Nursys verification; all RN licenses must be in good standing.
- Certifications: Current AHA BLS, NIHSS, and Chemo Certification required.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience; travel experience required.
- Education: RN degree from an accredited program.
- EMR: Proficiency with EPIC or demonstrated EPIC EMR experience.
- Other: Valid driver’s license with address that matches demographics; RTO requests must be included at submission; ability to float to multiple units as needed.
