Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
- Assist the surgical team during cases, maintain sterile technique, manage instrumentation and equipment, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, document events accurately, and communicate promptly with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and circulating staff.
- Support neuro and vascular procedures; participate in trauma cases as needed; follow protocols related to Level I trauma when applicable.
- Ensure correct patient positioning, specimen handling, room turnover, and strict adherence to infection control and safety standards in the OR.
- Participate in on-call coverage and respond to urgent needs during assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Level I trauma experience required
- Strong skills in neuro and vascular nursing; high rating on skills checklist
- On-call availability; weekends and holidays required
- Proficiency with Outlook, Workday, and Shift Wizard; access to electronic devices to use these apps
