Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Med-Surg Acute Care/Observation Unit patients
- Perform assessments, monitor vital signs and telemetry as indicated, and identify changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; ensure safe medication administration
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans using the nursing process
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team; communicate changes promptly
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record; maintain complete, legible charting
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care; respond to emergencies and participate in on-call shifts as required
Requirements
- Current Colorado RN license to practice
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years of Acute Care/Med Surg/Telemetry RN experience (travel experience preferred)
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts with weekend rotation and participate in on-call rotation as required
- Nursing degree from a accredited program (RN)
- Willingness to work in a hospital setting and adapt to unit needs
- Additional documentation may be requested (resume, license verification, skills sheet, BLS/ACLS cards)
