Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to adult medical-surgical patients on a high-activity admission unit
- Monitor patient condition, perform ongoing assessments, and respond to changes in status
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and implement plan of care under physician orders
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, case managers, and support staff to coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and ensure patient safety and infection control standards
- Communicate clearly with patients and families, and support rapid patient turnover on a 5:1 patient-ratio unit
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia) with Nursys license verification may be required
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum 2 years medical-surgical nursing experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a 2x3 schedule
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced admission unit with rapid patient turnover
- Eligibility for a travel assignment and ability to relocate for the duration of the contract
