Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for medical/surgical and telemetry patients on a 10-bed unit, including routine assessments, medication administration, and monitoring of vitals
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute patient care plans; ensure safe handoffs during shift changes
- Maintain a 5:1 patient ratio on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit; prioritize patient safety and timely interventions in a fast-paced environment
- Initiate and respond to changes in patient condition; perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols as needed
- Admit and discharge patients from the unit, coordinate with ancillary services, and document all care clearly in the electronic medical record
- Adapt to rapid patient turnover and evolving priorities while adhering to unit policies and infection control practices
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
- Ability to work night shift on a fast-paced, admission-heavy unit
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Willingness to fulfill mandatory holiday coverage requirements (Thanksgiving and either Christmas Eve/Day or New Year’s Eve/Day)
