Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, coordinated nursing care for ICU patients according to established standards and the nursing process
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and respond to emergencies with appropriate clinical judgment
- Develop and implement a comprehensive care plan, coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other disciplines
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; delegate tasks as appropriate
- Participate in discharge planning, provide patient and family education, and ensure safe, healing care environment
- Document accurately in the electronic health record and maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and quality standards
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- At least two years of recent ICU experience
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work night shift in a high-acuity ICU setting and to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
