Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical travel assignment in Saratoga Springs, NY, starting 04/13/2026 for a travel temporary role through the summer. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Med-Surg unit, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment of adult medical-surgical patients
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and manage tubes/drains as assigned
- Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and escalate changes to the care team promptly
- Document care in the patient record per unit standards and ensure accurate, timely reporting during shift handoffs
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and case management to support safe, efficient patient flow
- Float within the hospital as needed based on skillset and manager guidance
Requirements
- Active NY State registered nurse license
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital Med-Surg nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- EKG competency expected; facility may require Relias/onsite testing and passing standards
- COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine status unknown
- Ability to float within the hospital as needed
- Compliance prerequisites: recent verification and certifications; Healthstream/Relias modules must be completed prior to start
- Residency restrictions: travel candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of Saratoga Springs may not be considered; other county-based restrictions apply per compliance notes
