Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg in Saint Johnsbury Center, Vermont. Start date 06/10/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay range is $1,818–$1,846 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift is 3x12-hour nights (7 pm–7 am). This critical access hospital setting focuses on adult medical/surgical care with occasional pediatric patients in a general Med/Surg unit; not a pediatric-only assignment, and every other weekend is required. The role emphasizes using the Nursing Process to coordinate comprehensive patient care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adults and occasional pediatric patients in a general Med/Surg unit, coordinating through the Nursing Process with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, manage IV therapy and wound care as needed.
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record with accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, Nursing Supervisor, and other professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care; ensure safe transitions and appropriate follow-up.
Requirements
- Current Vermont RN license or multi-state RN licensure.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
- Minimum 3 years of acute care experience.
- Able to work night shifts in a Med/Surg setting; every other weekend required.
- Willing to care for adult patients with occasional pediatric cases; not pediatric-only.
- Flu vaccination required (no exceptions).
- Meditech experience preferred.
