Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the ICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient conditions.
- Lead and supervise the ICU nursing team during night shifts, ensuring adherence to standards of care.
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, and respond to changes in condition in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Coordinate with physicians, charge nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, efficient care and robust handoffs.
- Maintain accurate documentation, uphold patient safety and infection control protocols, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts and participate in unit-based performance improvement activities as needed.
Requirements
- Active registered nursing license in California (RN)
- ICU experience; five years of technical experience strongly preferred
- Supervisor or nurse-lead experience required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC required
- Ability to work a night-shift schedule in an ICU environment
- Education: Degree from an accredited nursing program (RN)
- Individual must be available for a 13-week assignment and meet travel criteria as applicable
