Setting: hospital Sterile Processing Main unit within a short-term acute care environment. This role supports the Sterile Processing department, with first-timers accepted. Local travelers within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract. Compliance and pre-start modules are required.

Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination and sterilization of instruments using steam sterilization and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS)
- Monitor and document biological and chemical indicators throughout processing
- Operate washers/sterilizers and high-level disinfection (HLD) processes, ensuring proper load validation
- Assemble case carts and instrument sets/trays for perioperative teams
- Maintain equipment documentation and clean ancillary equipment (e.g., crash carts, IV/PCA pumps)
- Complete EPIC charting and instrument tracking as part of instrument turnover and OR support

Requirements
- Certification: CBSPD or CRCST (HSPA/IAHCSMM accepted)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year sterile processing experience; preferred 2 years
- Charting: EPIC experience required (any charting system accepted)
- Travel eligibility: Not eligible for travel contract if permanent residence is within 50 miles of the facility
- Compliance: Mandatory pre-start and annual training modules
- Environment: Ability to work in an acute care hospital sterile processing environment
