Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical and Telemetry patients, including monitoring, assessment, and ongoing care documentation
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies, including IV therapy as needed, and monitor for adverse reactions
- Conduct timely and accurate charting in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and communicate changes in patient status to the care team
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans; participate in discharge planning and care coordination
- Float to units within the central pool and to areas such as hematology, oncology, orthopedics, med-surg/tele units, general surgery, neurology (and SDU), neurosurgery, ENT, and GYN, as well as ED boarders or surge areas when required
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to unit policies; participate in ongoing quality improvement and evidence-based practice
- Respond to emergencies, prioritize care, and advocate for patient and family needs; maintain professional standards and documentation

Requirements
- Licensure: RN license on file at time of submission
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS required; NIHSS required prior to start
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of RN experience; large trauma level 1, teaching facility experience preferred
- Specialty experience: EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years required
- Skills: Ability to float to units of like skill and ability, flexibility with scheduling, and strong critical thinking and collaboration
- Work setting: Ability to work in a hospital setting with floating responsibilities across designated units
