Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust the plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide respiratory care as ordered by the physician, maintaining clear communication with medical and nursing staff.
- Explain and instruct patients and their families about respiratory disease processes, interventions, and discharge instructions to ensure understanding.
- Share clinical knowledge with staff and students; serve as a role model for clinical practice.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care; accept reassignment to other units when necessary.
Requirements
- Active Illinois RRT license
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy
- BLS and NRP-MHC certifications
- Ability to work nights in a hospital travel assignment
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary hospital team
