Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting, including monitoring vitals, administering prescribed medications, and documenting changes in condition.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, wound care, and personal care needs while promoting dignity and independence.
- Administer medications and treatments within the scope of practice, ensuring accuracy and safety, and report any adverse reactions to the supervising clinician.
- Monitor and document patient status, respond to changes promptly, and escalate concerns to the charge nurse or supervising clinician as needed.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans, participate in handoffs, and communicate effectively with residents, families, and other staff while maintaining patient privacy and safety.
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in Maine
- Graduation from an approved practical nursing program
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred
- Ability to work 3x12 night shifts
- Strong documentation and communication skills; comfort with EMR/charting duties
